However this system was a big step up, till I got discovered a great deal on a Samsung HW-B750 5.1 ch sound bar for the same price, which I naturally switched out, providing another step up.
Would recommend the 9200 rear surround sound speakers ($100) which took things to another level.
Perfect for my man cave!
im happy with my purchase
That isn't going to happen! This little system sounds great. I can't wait to hear what it sounds like when I add the optional rear surround speakers!
•pros :
-it’s cheap
-gets very loud and has good vocal quality
-sleek small form factor
-extremely easy to setup wirelessly with Bluetooth connected to the TV
•cons
-bass doesn’t extend below 35-40hz
-no center channel
I’d only buy this soundbar if this is a tv you keep near the kitchen or outside and only care about watching tv shows / news to hear the voices more clearly, for a home theatre sound quality type soundbar I’d avoid it
I hope this was helpful.
If you are looking to greatly improve the sound of the onboard television speakers and need something compact and reasonably priced you may want to try these out.
I couldn't believe how good this sounds. My old LG would shake the entire house. This sub will not do that but it is shocking just how clear and hard this little sub works.
Also it hard to believe but somehow you can hear sounds from behind you. I don't know how Samsung did this without rear speakers.
Oh and my Samsung TV remote also controls the bar and sub.
I would highly recommend this sound bar to everyone.
This unit on surround paired with the rear speaker set (SWA-9200S) blows my old setup out of the water. We have a medium sized living room and watching Netflix on level 34 or more is too loud for my ears to handle.
Very happy for the money I spent ($400 for this and the speakers together) and would recommend this hands down
really enhance the listening experience, making movies and music sound more immersive. The subwoofer adds a nice bass punch, which is impressive for a soundbar at this price point.
What I love most is how seamlessly it works with my Samsung TV and other Samsung products. Everything connects easily and functions smoothly, which is a big plus since I own a lot of Samsung gear. If you're looking for solid sound performance without breaking the bank, this soundbar is a great option. Sure, it lacks some advanced features, but for the cost, it’s hard to beat.
Sound projects well in my large living room (300-400 sq ft).
But the next day, when I tried watching a normal show (connecting my Apple TV to the soundbar via Bluetooth), I didn't like it. First of all, after initially connecting the bluetooth, it wouldn't automatically connect whenever I turned on the Apple TV (I had to do it through the settings every time). But worse, whenever someone spoke, I heard a weird, low, gargly, scratchy echo of their voice. I knew that I hadn't blown out the speakers, and they were brand new, so I investigated. It was coming from the subwoofer. If I turned the subwoofer way down, the problem went away, BUT then the sound was too tinny because there were no low tones. I was very disappointed and was about to return it, but then I tried connecting the included digital optical cable to the TV and disconnecting the Apple TV bluetooth connection, and it instantly fixed the problem. I turned the subwoofer back up and got the bass back, but without the garbage echo.
Long story short, in my experience the bluetooth doesn't work well for bass, but if you use the included cable instead of bluetooth, you get great audio. I plan to only use this soundbar with the cable from now on, which meets my needs, so 5 stars. Hope this helps someone!
I have this connected to my LG OLED in my bedroom. Installed the wireless sub under my bed. The sound has not cut out a single time at all. It sounds extremely good. I love the BT connectivity for my phone. I can stream Tidal without issue and it sounds crisp and clear.
I also *really* appreciate the separate volume control for *just the subwoofer* on the remote. It comes in handy late at night if there is suddenly a loud action or club scene, as I can quickly dump the bass level out if others are sleeping.
Overall, very happy with the sale purchase for $150.
Was real easy to set up plug and play but make sure you turn off everything before we hook everything up It will hook up better.
Also, if you are using several streaming services like YouTube TV you will also have change the audio settings from 5.1 Surround sound to Normal (In YouTube TV) or something else because it will really sound BAD! You will also need to drop the Equalization about -2 to -4 on the soundbar's 300Hz & 600Hz range to get rid of the "canny" sound.
After experimenting and doing all these things above for about a week, it's sounding pretty good now using the HDMI ports.
It's not open
What can I do?
Sound is awesome and has deep, thumping bass. I love that I can use bluetooth on my phone to connect to the soundbar to play my Amazon Music.
I do wish the controls were more clear, the display on the soundbar is difficult to read at a distance.
This is a wonderful, cost-effective and compact surround-sound system for a very small area. Important: The rear speakers should really not be more than 2 1/2 to 3 feet behind your sitting area, because they are low powered. If you need rear speakers further away, you will definitely want to invest in a higher-powered system. Some reviewers mention concerns about there being a speaker wire for the rear speakers, despite them being called wireless. The purpose of that one wire is to send signal from the rear-right speaker to the rear-left speaker. The intended designation for the word “wireless” is that there is no need for a signal wire to run from the soundbar to the rear speakers. Honestly, I don’t mind it at all for our set up. It is no big deal.
This was such a great present for my mom. It’s small, and all the power and speaker wires are completely hidden/out of the way. Prior to installing this system it really was unbelievably loud throughout the whole house— typical senior-citizen, hard-of-hearing behavior, because she turned the TV up almost to maximum. Now, all is good in the world. Sanity has been restored, thanks to Samsung— my brand preference!!
