    Thirst, when I connected HDMI cable from my Samsung TV, I was very disappointed. Sound was just a little bit better, but not great. My TV does not have optical output. So, I decided to test Bluetooth connection before make a decision return it back. I connected my phone via Bluetooth, and sound was really great. So, I reconnected my tv through the Bluetooth and sound significantly improved. I do not know if this is an issue for the this sound bar, but I am satisfied with quality of Bluetooth connection. Also BT gives additional ability pause and forward music on tv when watching YouTube. I am giving 4 out of 5 stars only because HDMI did not work for me well.

    Bought this speaker on sale and let me tell you I’m very impressed and it’s well worth it. It’s loud and perfect for movies and watching live games. I will say the bass isn’t that strong which is why I give it 4 stars.
    It was a little tricky to set up at first, but my favorite feature is being able to connect my phone via Bluetooth without having to turn it on with the remote. Good for gaming as well 🎮

    Sony soundbar, HT-S100F, refurbished.
    Awesome buy, product rated good. Had a little trouble getting the sound 2 come out but the troubleshooting took care of it.

    I am impressed with the simplicity this unit provides. It delivers a clear good sound field with nice separation and the bass reflex works well too. I have the Sony A8H and the two just went together esthetically with an understated yet elegant design. I can control it with my TV remote and it has an IR Repeater, which means a signal from the remote passes through the soundbar. A great feature was if I shut off the soundbar, the audio went right back to my TV speakers and for me that is a plus because I love what Sony did with placing the speakers behind the screen as opposed to below. The choice is just a nice option. Blue tooth pairing was simple and I could control the audio from my iPhone without a problem. I tested with the TV’s built in smart applications, a 32 year old Laserdisc Player hooked up via break out composite video and audio and I also tried it with my Apple TV 4K. In all cases I had no problem hearing the dynamic audio. The soundbar will playback Dolby Audio, including Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and PCM. Please note that the surround effect is good, but do not expect it to replace a component receiver and multi speaker set up. It is not designed to do that. What it does exceedingly well is exactly what it claims to do. The only issue I had with the unit was for some reason it did not pass through audio from my LG 4K BD player. It plays audio and video through the TV easily, but it was mute when I tried the soundbar. I am going to call Sony tomorrow to inquire about this. If the issue can be fixed then the soundbar is a keeper, but if not then I will send it back cause I am paying for it to do what it is supposed to do. I expect it no matter what I paid for it and you should too no matter what you buy. I will update this review to reflect what happens tomorrow. Assuming all goes well, at $100 dollars, you are getting a great deal from a recognized and trusted brand. I love the unit and if that one issue is corrected, then I can whole heartedly recommend the Sony HT-S100F Soundbar without reservation. I want to add that I tested the 4K Blu-ray feature again and discovered evidently I purchased a faulty 4K BD because with the others I tested, I experienced no issues whatsoever. So collectively, I am pleased. It works as it should and is a great value. Recommended.
